Zakariya dux of Sabeto Muslim Primary School

13-year-old, Mohammed Zakariya of Sabeto Muslim Primary School is aiming to become an engineer which is one of the biggest dreams of his mother.

Zakariya received the dux award at the prize giving ceremony today.

He says after Tropical Cyclone Winston it was very hard for him to study at night since there was no electricity, however he kept on telling himself that he had to show everyone that nothing can stop him from achieving his goal.

He adds that his mother and other family members have a lot of hope on him and therefore he does not want to let them down.

Zakariya who is living with his mother and grandparents says that he will visit his elder sister in Suva in the school holidays.

He scored 499 marks out of 600 in the Year Eighth External Examination.

Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.
