Zafar looks forward to Diwali this year after coming out of challenges due to COVID-19

Year 11 Nasinu Muslim College student Abdul Zafar says he is looking forward to what Diwali will offer to his family this year but some families are still facing hardships.

Zafar says his dad was laid off from work during the 6 months of the COVID-19 pandemic but they are fortunate that he has started working again.

He says his Diwali celebrations start today as his family has faced enough due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zafar’s hard work has paid off as he won the second prize in Radio Sargam’s Golden Harvest and Baking Range Diwali Sweets and Savouries Competition.

He says he prepared the sweets himself and his hard work is being paid off.

The student has won $150 cash.
