Youth told to ensure gender equality in our communities

‘It is the key responsibility of all the youth in Fiji to see that there is gender equality in our community.’

This was shared by the Youth Officer Eastern Etuate Bari at the Provincial Youth Administration on Gender Base Violence Workshop at the Southern Cross Hotel in Suva.

Bari says women and girls are equal representatives of youth in the community.

He says we need to include young rural women in community-based programs that are dominated by male participants.

Bari says it will be a holistic approach towards women.

Bari stresses that when the Youth Administrators will go back to their respective districts they will be able to encourage others to indulge young women in different types of activities and programs that are facilitated by their Ministry.

26 participants from the different districts around the country took part in the workshop.
