If you have missed out on voter registration in your area or village, you can still come and register in urban areas where Fijian Elections Office registration centres are open.
This has been made clear by Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem on fijivillage Straight Talk With CFL News Director Vijay Narayan.
Saneem says they still have teams out in some of the remote areas especially hotspots like Vunidawa government centre in Naitasiri.
He adds this is the plan at the moment.
When asked on when will people have the last chance to register to vote, Saneem says your last chance is the last time you may see a registration team near you.
People can get registered until the Writ of Elections is issued but please do not leave things to the last minute.
He confirms that in the last 17 days, they have covered over 557 localities around Fiji, mostly in the rural areas.
Saneem says they have covered 72,000 voters over that period.
Saneem stresses that voter registration is the most critical part of an election because they have to prepare the voter to exercise the right to vote without any difficulty.
He says the basic requirement to vote in Fiji is that you have to be a registered voter.
Saneem says in order to register you have to be either a Fiji citizen or have to be 18 years and above.
