The formalities of Eid are the same but the younger generation of Muslims in Fiji are giving Eid celebrations a modern twist.
These are the words of Fiji Muslim League Lautoka Branch President Mohammed Naved Khan who says celebrations used to end in the day time before but now they continue into the night.
Khan says celebrations take place for almost a whole week nowadays.
He says people do open houses and invite their friends and families as not they can visit everyone on the same day.
He says Fiji respects all religions.
He says the needy and poor are looked after during Ramzan and especially on Eid.
