A Year 11 student of a secondary school in Suva is now recovering at home with injuries to his head and bruises to his body after he was allegedly assaulted in school last Friday.
The 17-year-old boy was allegedly hit on the back of his head when he was in the toilet and then further bashed up by three boys in front of the school.
One of the boys allegedly involved is the Deputy Head Boy.
The student had to be rescued by teachers who were alerted about the incident.
He had to receive stitches on his lips.
There has been no comment by the school principal.
A police investigation is underway after the parents of the boy filed a police report at the Nabua Police Station.
