Fiji Water Flying Fijians Peceli Yato and Api Ratuniyarawa will not be part of the national squad to the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France.
This was confirmed to the media by Head Coach Simon Raiwalui after Fiji's 36-20 victory over Tonga at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
Raiwalui says Yato had a great preparation and communicated well in leading the boys.
He says Yato left the squad on his own accord and they respect his decision.
He also highlighted that Api Ratuniyarawa will leave the squad on August 1st.
When questioned if he will add another player to the existing squad, Raiwalui says at the moment, they will not look for a replacement as there are about 40 players training.
Fiji’s first World Cup match will be against Wales at 7am on the 11th of September, then they will take on Australia at 3.45am on the 18th of September and play Georgia at 3.45am on the 1st of October in their final pool match.
