The Grand Pacific Hotel is preparing to exhibit at 2 this afternoon what will soon be the longest Swiss Roll ever made in the world.
Grand Pacific Hotel General Manager Eugen Diethelm said the Vanilla, Cherry and Coconut flavoured Swiss Roll can be viewed and enjoyed by the public as the Hotel marks its 100th anniversary today.
He said though 135 meters is a new world record they do not wish to enter the Guinness Book of World Records yet, as they intend to break the record further by baking a 185 meter long roll in the future.
38 kitchen staff used close to 60 kg of flour to create the 135 meter long cake which is intended to sit in the 163 meter long car-park of the Hotel.
He said along with the free cake, whoever discovers a plane in their piece will win a return trip to Australia.
Meanwhile Japan is the current world record holder after creating a 130 meter long Swiss Roll last year.
