Police officers are also at the scene to monitor the gathering to ensure safety and security of the general public.

National Federation Party MP, Lenora Qereqeretabua has also joined the gathering at the Fiji Teachers Union office carpark.

FTUC is having peaceful gatherings by unions and workers around the country after their application to march today was denied by Police.

Gatherings are also taking place at union properties in Lautoka and Nadi.

The Fiji Trades Union Congress says these peaceful workers gatherings are being held for them to raise campaign issues such the National Minimum Wage, Right to Strike, Labour Law Reforms, Imposition of Individual Contracts, Federated Airline Staff Association Issues, Vatukoula Strike and Harassment and intimidation of trade unionists.
