Minister for Defence, Inia Seruiratu has urged the 205 new police officers that their work as a police officer does not cease at the end of the day when they take off their uniform, but they are a police officer at all times and they must never turn anyone away who is in need of their assistance.
Seruiratu highlighted this while speaking at the Basic Recruit Pass-out Parade today at the Nasova Police Grounds.
He reminded the new recruits to think before they do something that can potentially jeopardise their policing career.
Seruiratu says they should think about the sacrifices their families and loved ones made for them.
He told them the uniform they wear represents hope for every Fijian and visitors to our shores.
Seruiratu says with the uniform they wear comes great responsibility and while the going may get tough they need to keep in mind their mission to serve and protect.
