Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Penny Wong

Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong says they understand there are strong differences of views between different parties regarding funding for USP but she hopes Pacific Island leaders will find a way through it.

The Fijian Government says they will not release the more than $62 million until a full independent investigation into USP is done.

While responding to a question if Australia would urge Fiji to recommit to USP, Wong says they would simply say that a consensus ought to be reached.
