Marist 7s Tournament Coordinator, Koli Korovulavula

Every team needs a chance to play, be exposed to the three-day competition, and have an opportunity to achieve good results.

Marist 7s Tournament Coordinator, Koli Korovulavula says this is also a great opportunity to highlight women’s rugby, as the Marist 7s tournament was the first to introduce women’s rugby in Fiji.

Korovulavula says this year’s women’s final will feature a full national anthem performance to showcase the talents of female players.

He adds in the past it often seemed like women’s teams were sidelined, but this year the organizers aim to encourage more women’s teams to participate and fill the space.

The Tournament Coordinator says getting women’s teams to register has been challenging each year.

He adds this year, 24 teams will compete in the women’s category, promising a tough and exciting competition.

The games will be held from the 20th to 22nd of March at the HFC Bank Stadium.
