A 40-year-old woman, who is facing charges of obtaining financial advantage, will appear in the Nabouwalu Magistrates Court today.
Police say on July 24th this year, the woman allegedly dishonestly obtained $165 from a victim through the M-PAiSA platform.
They say their investigation revealed that the victim had seen a Facebook post advertising an iPhone for sale at $330 and contacted the accused to express interest in purchasing the phone.
The accused instructed the victim to send $165 as a deposit, promising to deliver the phone via courier, however, after the victim transferred the money, she could not reach the accused and subsequently, reported the matter to the Tavua Police Station.
