Woman dead after bus crashes into sitting area at Nadi Bus Stand

A woman has passed away after an accident involving a bus at the Nadi Bus Stand yesterday afternoon.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says initial information gathered reveal that the bus which was parked, suddenly started moving and crashed into the area where the woman was sitting.

Police believe at this stage that there may have been a brake failure but the bus will be taken for vehicle inspection.

Naisoro also confirms that the driver was in the bus when the incident occurred. 

Another woman is also admitted at the Nadi Hospital after sustaining injuries from the accident.

Police are interviewing more witnesses to gather more information about the incident.
