Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar says with the added allocation in this financial year, they will be able to secure and outsource services for a night shelter for the homeless people including children, who do not wish to return home.
While answering a question in parliament about the establishment of the Department of Children, Akbar says this will be for the profiled people adding they have profiled 189 people throughout Fiji.
She further says there is no reason for some of them to be on the streets but unfortunately circumstances beyond their control has pushed them.
Akbar highlighted that at the night shelter, the people will get food and a bed.
