Winds have slowly begun to pick up with rain in and Galoa and Namara, Kadavu earlier this afternoon.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Galoa, Tavuki in Kadavu Maraia Dunbar says that as winds begin to pick up they have secured houses with ropes and boulders.
She adds that men have also taken down solar panels as it has now started to rain heavily.
Namara villager, Ravuama Labailagi says that men have begun to bring boats in to shore as seas are also rough.
He says that the Turaga ni Koro has advised that people uproot crops from their plantation that can be used before it gets dark.
Labailagi adds that people have also begun to put up shutters and continue to store water enough for tonight.
