Team Fiji members who proudly represented the country in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Championship in India

Whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve.

This was the message by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka while congratulating Weightlifting Fiji on their achievements at the Commonwealth Championships in India.

Team Fiji won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the Commonwealth Championships in India.

Rabuka says the team is being recognized for their great achievement and performance at the Games.

He urged the athletes not to stop at that platform as the world is now open to them.

Chargé d'Affaires of the Australian High Commission in Fiji Stuart Watts acknowledged the great performance of the athletes and congratulated them on their achievements.

Weightlifting Fiji President Della Shaw-Elder acknowledged the support from the Australian High Commission that enabled them to compete in India.

She says the support of the Australian government was timely as they were facing financial difficulties.
