What once was a dream has now become a reality for the new kid on the block and Team Fiji Rugby 7s outside back Joji Nasova who will be looking to make his first-ever Olympic appearance for Fiji next week.
The Toge, Ba man debuted for Fiji at the HSBC Hong Kong 7s in April this year and climbed up the ranks quickly as he caught the selectors' attention with his explosive runs and hard-hitting tackles.
Nasova, in an interview, says growing up in the interior of Ba, his dream was to don the national jumper and play on the international stage and make the people of Fiji happy by helping Fiji win tournaments.
The 23-year-old says looking back at all the struggles that he went through and the hard work that he had been putting in while growing up, he felt that it was all starting to pay off one at a time.
The Dominion Brothers player started playing rugby at the age of 9 and says he has always prayed about the opportunity to represent Fiji on the world stage.
Nasova says he is happy with how far he has come but the work does not stop and he vows to keep pushing hard to reach more greater heights.
