The Wesley City Mission Church, a member of the Wesley Division, Methodist Church in Fiji has commenced construction of a new $1.5 million multipurpose hall complex.
This is located at the corner of Gordon and Butt Streets in Central Suva.
The multipurpose hall will have facilities to cater for meetings, conferences and social events, and serve the growing needs of members and the various fellowship ministries within the Church.
There will also be spaces for three shops on the basement floor facing Butt Street.
Construction of the new hall is scheduled to be completed by the end of October of this year.
The new complex is being built on the same site where the old hall was located.
The old hall was constructed in the early 1900s, and was dismantled within the past two weeks.
Materials from the old hall have been transported for reconstruction at a site in Navua where the Pacific Harbour Wesley Church is located.
