National Men’s 7s coach Osea Kolinisau says he is urging the team to focus on their processes and to know that they are in Paris for a purpose.
Kolinisau highlighted this to the media from their base camp in France saying he is stressing to the team that the Olympics is like nothing they have experienced before.
He says Jerry Tuwai and Waisea Nacuqu told him that in Tokyo because of COVID-19, the teams kept to themselves as everything was very strict.
The coach says he has told the boys not to get shocked or distracted because it is not like the 7s series as the Games village in Paris is one of the biggest ever, and there will be thousands of athletes present.
Kolinisau says he will name the final 13-member squad once they move to the Games village next week.
Fiji will face Uruguay at 3am next Thursday in their first match, they will then take on the USA at 6.30am on the same day, before playing hosts France at 1.30am next Friday in their final pool match.
The Men’s quarter finals will kick off at 7am next Friday.
The semi finals will kick off at 1.30am next Sunday and the final will be at 5.45am.
