We will focus on our performance first and take each game step by step by maintaining consistency.

This is the message from Digicel Fiji Junior Bula Boys coach Marika Rodu as they prepare to face Tahiti in their first OFC U19 Championship match in Samoa today.

Rodu says it is a huge task for him, and the pressure is mounting, especially compared to the two teams that had represented the country in the OFC U19 Championship last year and the year before.

He says no Fijian team has defeated New Zealand to qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup, and their primary goal is to beat New Zealand and secure qualification.

He says he has faith in the players.

Fiji is pooled with Tahiti, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu in Group A.

The Junior Bula Boys will play Tahiti at 11 this morning.

Stay with us for updates.
