We want to continue to hold on to the title and it has been our number one priority before the tournament started.

This is the statement made by Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne as they gear up for this weekend’s Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup final clash against Japan.

Byrne says they have set that target way back before they played Samoa in round 1 and he says every team’s coach would have set that as an endpoint as well.

When asked if there will be a change of strategy this weekend against Japan, Byrne says no as thinks the team knows what they need to do and the way they want to play.

He says they will be more mindful around their defence as they have got to keep some space since Japan likes to go wide.

The Flying Fijians will take on Japan at 10.05pm this Saturday in Osaka, Japan.
