Opposition Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka says the opposition parliamentarians should still get paid despite walking out of parliament on Tuesday morning and not attending the sitting yesterday.
When asked by Fijivillage Rabuka says they may not be in parliament house but they are still working in the Opposition Office.
He says they are entitled to get the pay.
Fijivillage has asked the Acting Secretary General to Parliament, Viniana Namosimalua if all the SODELPA and NFP MPs in parliament will get their pay or allowance deducted for walking out of parliament.
She is expected to respond later today.
SODELPA In, NFP Still Out, some people ask if they will be paid
SODELPA parliamentarians are back in parliament this morning however National Federation Party parliamentarians, Professor Biman Prasad and Lenora Qereqeretabua are not in attendance.
We have been told by NFP staff in parliament that Professor Prasad and Qereqeretabua will not attend parliament based on the SODELPA petition on the exploration at the Sigatoka River Mouth not accepted by the Speaker.
Meanwhile Fijivillage has received calls and messages from members of the public on whether the opposition members who are staying out of parliament will get paid. They are asking what the parliamentarians will get paid for and whether deductions will take place for not showing up, if yes then how much, if no then why not.
