We owe senior citizens respect for making Fiji what it is today - Maharaj

By Meredani Tisugu
Thursday 10/10/2019

"We all owe senior citizens our respect and gratitude for their tireless contributions and efforts to make Fiji what it is today".

This was the message by Assistant Minister of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Alvick Maharaj during the Pearce Home Fiji Day Celebration.

He says Fiji Day is about reflecting on the past and how these senior citizens have contributed to the development of the country to be the Fiji we are today.

He says the government has not forgotten senior citizens and they still care for them.

He commends the management and the staff of Homes around Fiji for the roles they play in guiding and supporting our senior citizens on a daily basis.
