Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today paid tribute to members of the discipline forces that lost their lives in the 2000 coup as he handed over the keys and titles of four homes to the families of our fallen soldiers and policemen.

While handing over the four new homes at the Wainibuku subdivision in Nasinu, Bainimarama says we must never forget the sacrifice made by our fellow Fijians who gave their lives nearly 17 years ago.

He says the loss of these families cannot be replaced or repaired with bricks or metal.

Bainimarama says patriots like the six Fijians we lost in the 2000 coup have built the Fiji we know today and their legacy lives on in the men, women and children all across our islands.

He says their legacy also lives in his own mind as the Prime Minister.

Bainimarama says Fijians must never forget the events of the 2000 coup and the important roles which the Police and RFMF played in ensuring there was stability in the country.

He made the comments in the itaukei language while handing over the keys and titles of four homes to the families of servicemen the passed away in the 2000 coup.

Bainimarama says we must also never forget the issues and problems that caused the 2000 coup because Fijians died to ensure that Fiji would be a more prosperous country today.

He also said that Fijians must always remember the importance of roles of the Fiji Police Force and RFMF play in maintaining unity in Fiji.
