Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Lynda Tabuya says senior citizens have contributed so much in the building of our nation and it is only right that in their golden age, they are provided the love and care they rightly deserve.
This has been highlighted by Tabuya during the New Year Celebration for Senior Chinese citizens above the age of 65 in Suva.
Tabuya says as a country, we need to celebrate and acknowledge our senior citizens as they have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with younger generations.
The Minister also acknowledged the Chinese Association of Fiji and the Chinese community for their support of the aged care institutions over the years.
She further adds it is the Government’s commitment to review the existing social programs for senior citizens with the aim to ensure their decent and dignified living and to achieve the Government’s vision of inclusive, resilient and better Fiji.
Tabuya says she will definitely need all of the support she can get.
