Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Sakiasi Ditoka

We have schemes to support people living in rural and maritime areas that allow people to find a source of income under the Rural and Maritime Island Programs.

The Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Sakiasi Ditoka highlighted this during his tour to Taveuni and informed people how the government is assisting them with schemes and grants.

Ditoka says purchasing boats and engines allows people to set up their businesses as fishing is their biggest source of income which they can support their families with.

He further says that the dream of any government is to make sure that the lives of people in rural areas are the same as the people living in urban areas.

The Minister adds that they are trying to achieve their objective to improve lives.
