Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Mick Byrne says it is a big step up for the Drua players when you look at the experience of Super Rugby teams that have been part of a professional set up for over 30 years.
Byrne says he is always asked about Fiji rugby fans and their expectations of the Drua.
While speaking at the Fijian Media Association press club event in collaboration with PacificAusSports and Australian High Commission, the former All Blacks skills coach says he does not want the fans to lower their expectation.
He adds the players go through a lot of challenges on a daily basis.
Byrne says he is proud to be the coach of a resilient bunch of players.
The Fijian Drua face the Highlanders at 4.35pm today at the ANZ Stadium.
Meanwhile, Suva will face Namosi at 1.40pm in the Marama Championship in the curtain raiser match.
