Olympic bronze medalist Laisana Likuceva says one of the challenges they faced while preparing for the Olympic Games was accessing training equipment under COVID-19 restrictions.
She says access was cut-off and they had to improvise and train in their own bubbles.
Likuceva says they could not have gotten bronze at the Olympics without the support and sacrifice of their families, the team management and fans.
The 22-year-old began playing rugby in 2019 for the Yasawa Women’s Rugby team in the Vanua Championship.
She also played for Yasawa in the 2020 Skipper Cup.
It was always her dream to play for the Fijiana 7s team in the Olympic Games.
The Fijiana 7s team and the rest of Team Fiji are still in quarantine at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa.
