Our job as coaches is to make sure the players stay focused on the task in order to start a game well.
These were the words of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Assistant Coach Brad Harris as they turn their focus to their do-or-die match against the Queensland Reds this weekend.
Harris says some of the players bring with them some nervous energy but they as coaches will want to try and use that energy in a positive way that drives their work rate and enthusiasm for the game.
He says this will also help them prepare for whatever challenge that awaits them.
The Fijian Drua are currently in 10th place with 21 points and will be gunning for a bonus point win over the Reds in front of their home fans to try and create history by qualifying for the Super Rugby Pacific playoffs in just their second year in the competition.
The Fijian Drua will take on the Reds at 4.35pm Saturday.
Gates at the HFC Bank Stadium will open at 1.35pm.
Other games this week, the Blues will play the Highlanders at 7.05pm Friday, the Brumbies meet the Rebels at 9.35pm Friday, the Hurricanes host the Crusaders at 7.05pm Saturday, the Waratahs play Moana Pasifika at 9.35pm Saturday and the Western Force host the Chiefs at 12pm Sunday.
