Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Assistant Coach, Daryl Gibson says they are not going to turn Fiji into a ten-man team that kicks the leather off the ball and scrums and lineouts teams.
Gibson told Rugby Pass that coach Vern Cotter has been open to ideas around playing the game and playing it in a uniquely Fijian way and with an identity that people can see.
He says the obvious short term goal would be to beat tier one nations consistently.
Gibson says that performance at the next Rugby World Cup in France is a long-term project.
He adds the present is getting to know the players, getting to understand their strengths and weaknesses and the style of play that is going to suit them.
Fiji will begin the Autumn Nations Cup against France on Sunday 15th November.
Fiji will then meet Italy on 21st November before travelling to Murrayfield to play Scotland in the final round on the 28th of November.
