80 percent of affected areas in Nadi have had their water supply fully restored while water has also been restored to 90% of affected areas in Lautoka following the successful completion of the installation works at the Nagado Water Treatment Plant over the weekend.

Water Authority of Fiji Board Director Kamal Goundar says most affected areas in Nadi and Lautoka have been restored adding that the Authority is working around the clock to restore water supply to all affected areas.

He says the installation of the two new valves at the Nagado Water Treatment Plant were carried out successfully and completed on time.

Gounder says that Water Authority also carried three important works during the shutdown which involved the repair of a leaking washout along the Vaturu to Nagado Water Treatment Plant High Pressure Bulk line.
