A water spout that formed along the Coral Coast in Sigatoka yesterday afternoon posed no threat to the people along the coastal community as it was out at sea.
This has been confirmed by Director Fiji Meteorological Services, Teri Atalifo after looking at videos circulating online and atmospheric conditions yesterday.
When questioned if there is a possibility of it forming again or moving on land, Atalifo says it is associated with thunderstorms and all have dissipated.
The Director adds it's a local event which they cannot see from both their satellite and radar.
