The Water level is starting to recede in Sawani, one of the hard hit flood areas in the Central Eastern Division.
Police at the Sawani Community post say the water level at the Sawani Bridge is slowly receding revealing a large number of debris on the bridge.
Police confirmed that the water level is also receding in the Vuniniudrovu and Sawani villages.
Rain has also stopped in the area since midnight.
Meanwhile, in Nausori at Raralevu, 15 evacuees are at the Korociriciri School while nine people are sheltering at a temple.
The Korocirici road is still underwater and closed to traffic.
Police confirmed that the rain has stopped since midnight.
