Hundreds of people living in elevated parts of Flagstaff and Domain as well as surrounding areas may experience intermittent supply of water at times from 4am to 5pm this Thursday.
Affected areas include Ratu Sukuna Road, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Muanikau Road, Laucala Bay Road, Bau Road, McGregor Road, Domain Road and Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese.
Water Authority of Fiji says the temporary interruption in water supply is to allow their teams to carry out urgent repairs to a leaking section of a water main at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua, preventing further major water disruptions.
The Authority is urging customers to conserve and always store sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least two to three days in their homes at all times.
It says people should invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works or natural disasters.
