The Water Authority of Fiji says a massive landslide at the inlet to the Wainibuku Reservoir is the reason why thousands of Fijians living along the Suva to Nausori corridor are without water today, however, they have yet to confirm when supply will normalise.
WAF Chief Operating Officer, Seru Soderberg says the disruption is being caused by a major fault on the Waila to Wainibuku bulk water mains which has dislocated due to the landslide that occurred late last night due to heavy rain.
Soderberg says the damage is significant and will take some time to safely repair and adds that due to safety reasons, they will work to stabilize the site before repairs can commence.
