Water Authority of Fiji lawyer Devanesh Sharma today indicated to the Suva High Court that the Authority intends to settle a case with the National Union of Workers.
The matter was listed for hearing today.
Sharma told Justice Angela Wati that they are trying to settle the matter and both parties have made offers and counter offers.
He has asked the court for seven days for them to attempt to settle.
Felix Anthony appeared on behalf of the National Union of Workers.
Anthony told Fijivillage that their claim is that former Water Authority of Fiji employee Anasa Tuviniwai should be reinstated and be paid up till the time of his reinstatement.
Tuviniwai lost his job on the 19th of January, 2017 and he claims that he was unfairly dismissed.
Anthony says hopefully in the coming week they will sign a deed of settlement.
The case will be called at 10.30am next Friday.
