Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited is calling for a more coordinated and partnership-based approach when it comes to clean-up campaigns.
This is after fijivillage reported concerns by residents of Davuilevu Housing about their green and white waste from last month not being picked up.
Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited Director, Joseph Inoke-Deo says a collaborative approach would ensure white-goods get recycled and do not end up at the exhausted landfill, dumpsites or in this case left on the roadside.
The CEO of the Nausori and Nasinu Town Councils Anurashika Bari has said that green and white waste left on the side of the road will be collected by their team and she is pleading with residents to have patience.
Bari adds they understand they are a bit behind in their collection schedules but it will be collected.
Inoke-Deo says the Nasinu Town Council under the leadership of Bari has made good efforts but a collaborative approach would have ensured an efficient, effective ad sustainable method of dealing with the items disposed.
Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited has been providing recycling collection services in Fiji for over 26 years and deals with a wide range of recyclables such as plastic bottles, all types of plastic, cardboard, paper, glass, approved scrap metals including certain white goods and several other recyclables.
