Coach Darren Coleman is a relieved man after the NSW Waratahs dug deep to secure a vital 26-20 Super Rugby Pacific comeback win over Moana Pasifika in Auckland.
Despite the defeat, there were still joyous celebrations for Moana Pasifika as cancer survivor and former Wallabies playmaker Christian Lealiifano is now only the seventh player to rack up 1000 points in Super Rugby.
Two conversions and a pair of penalty goals pushed Lealiifano to 1001 career points in the competition, propelling the ex-Brumbies star into elite company alongside rugby greats Dan Carter (1708), Morne Steyn (1488), Beauden Barrett (1275), Elton Jantjies (1140), Bernard Foley (1095) and Stirling Mortlock (1036).
In other results, the Crusaders thrashed Western Force 53-15, the Blues thrashed the Rebels 71-28, the Highlanders defeated the Reds 27-19 and the Brumbies beat the Chiefs 38-28.
The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua take on the Hurricanes at 3.35pm today.
