Fiji-born Sevu Reece scored a double for the Crusaders, but it wasn't enough as the defending champions recorded their sixth loss of the season, losing to the Waratahs 43-40 in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific match last night.
The Crusaders were on their way to claiming their second win when replacement Will Harrison slammed over a penalty to force golden point, and then landed the dagger drop goal to snap the Waratahs ’ five-match losing streak.
The loss has moved the Crusaders to 11th place in the points table.
Meanwhile, Moana Pasifika created history defeating the Reds 17-14 and claiming their third win this year.
Reds half-backs Tate McDermott and Frasier McReight received red cards during the match.
Coming up today, the Hurricanes will take on the Chiefs at 7.05pm, and the Rebels will face the Highlanders at 9.35pm.
