Brisbane Broncos fullback Reece Walsh has suffered a PCL injury and is expected to miss between four to six weeks, putting his availability for State of Origin I in doubt.
Broncos officials say Walsh sustained the injury and will undergo scans early this week upon returning to Australia to determine the full extent of the damage.
It’s another blow for Queensland just weeks out from the series opener.
The unexpected news comes after reports that Melbourne Storm hooker Harry Grant is also expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks with a hamstring injury.
Queensland hopefuls Jack Howarth and Max Plath were also injured, further weakening the Maroons lineup ahead of the May 28 opener.
The Broncos say the club will provide a further update on Walsh later this week.
Later in tonight, the Knights will host the Sharks in Newcastle.
