The Wallabies run the risk of failure if they can’t contain the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians this Saturday.

Only the Wallabies, All Blacks and France have reached the quarterfinals at all eight previous Rugby World Cups and if the Wallabies lose to Fiji they face the risk of not reaching the quarters.

The Wallabies have won its last five meetings against the Flying Fijians. They last met in June 2017 and the Wallabies won that match 37-14.

Wallabies Coach Michael Cheika told rugby.com.au that they are not looking any further ahead than their opener against Fiji.

He says every game is a grand final in the Rugby World Cup.

The referee for the Fiji vs Wallabies match is New Zealander Ben O'Keeffe who referees at Super Rugby and test match level.

There are seven matches in the Rugby World Cup this weekend with the opening match this Friday between Japan and Russia at 10.45pm.

Fiji play the Wallabies at 4.45pm this Saturday.

France and Argentina face off at 7.15pm Saturday while the All Blacks and Springboks clash at 9.45pm Saturday.

On Sunday, Italy and Namibia play at 5.15pm, Ireland and Scotland face off at 7.45pm Sunday while England clash with Tonga at 10.15pm Sunday.
