The Wales 15s rugby team has recorded their first win in the Rugby World Cup beating Samoa 17-10 in a bruising match in Hamilton.
Trailing 10-6 at halftime, the Welsh fought back to secure a victory which should see them advance to the tournament quarterfinals following their opening one-point loss to South Africa.
It leaves Samoa probably needing to beat the defending Springboks if they are to reach the playoffs.
Prop Anthony Perenise burrowed over after a sustained period of Samoan pressure to hand his team the lead for the first time just after the halftime hooter.
However, Wales worked their way back into the contest after the break, hitting the front through two penalties by Rhys Priestland before veteran winger Shane Williams scored the decisive try 13 minutes from the end.
Their defence held firm to the end, keeping Samoa scoreless through the second half.
Wales captain, Sam Warburton said his sides defence was the key to their win.
