Wales Coach Wayne Pivac has revealed five of his players have suffered COVID-19 symptoms and doubts the July tour of New Zealand will go ahead.
Pivac says he was still preparing to play Japan on June 27 and then two tests against the All Blacks on July 4 and 11 though he believes they are increasingly unlikely to happen as the coronavirus pandemic continues to hit sports around the globe.
He says until it is called off, or postponed, they have to prepare as if it's going ahead and that's certainly what they are doing.
Wales are also scheduled to play four home tests, against Fiji, New Zealand, Argentina, and South Africa, in November.
Stuff.co.nz reports there has been talk of rescheduling the matches.
That would make for a hectic end of the year for Wales who may also have to squeeze in uncompleted Six Nations games.
Pivac revealed that five of his players have had the virus.
He says they have been very very lucky that no one’s been seriously ill.
Pivac says the players all had symptoms such as coughs and a temperature, so they have dealt with that at home and they have come out the other side.
