Wainadoi husband and wife win Navtarang and Sargam Sweets and Savouries competition

Husband and wife, Rajesh Chand and Sushil Mati of Wainadoi, Navua have won the Navtarang and Sargam’s Golden Harvest and Baking Range Diwali Sweets and Savouries competition.

They have won $250 each.

Their daughter, Khushbu Chand won the past three years competitions but this is the first time Chand has participated.

Chand says they will use their prize money to celebrate Diwali and will also save some cash as times are tough.

Chand says he is carrier driver and the past five months have been difficult for him as he has not been working full time.

The Wainadoi, Navua resident says he will not be celebrating Diwali like previous years.

Meanwhile, Mati says their celebrations will mainly focus on prayers.
