Hundreds of people, including children who came in different costumes, registered for the Walk on Walk Strong Kids Fun Walk and Zumba this morning at Albert to raise awareness for kids living with cancer.

WOWS Kids Fiji Manager Operations Mere Williams was overwhelmed with the support from members of the public, business stakeholders, and government officials who turned up this morning for the initiative.

Williams says this year's event was bigger and better than last year as more people turned up, and with favourable weather, children from different schools turned up as well.

She says 77 children are registered with them, and sadly they lose twenty children every year who battle with cancer.

WOWS Kids Fiji Ambassador and robust Swire Shipping Fijian Drua hooker Tevita Ikanivere says being an Ambassador and a father has made his commitment stronger to the foundation, and he urges the people to get their children checked for early detection and support the 77 kids under the program.

Ikanivere says the huge number that supported the cause today was a good sign that their messages of love and care are out there for children, and he is pleading with the government and stakeholders to come to support the foundation.

He says for the children's sake, he will always support the foundation and the cause, and he is hoping more sporting people will join him in raising awareness and fundraising for these children.
