The Water Authority of Fiji is conducting pressure management work throughout the water supply network as many pipelines are outdated and need replacement.
While responding to the questions on what they are doing to address the recent water supply issues, WAF told fijivillage News that this work includes installing pressure-reducing valves in key locations to balance water pressure within each district-metered area, ensuring a more stable supply.
WAF says they have a program running to replace ageing pipelines, which is essential for maintaining the water supply system's integrity and reducing pipe bursts and leaks.
They say these efforts will help ensure a consistent water flow, especially during high demand.
WAF is asking the people to be patient during these critical upgrades, emphasising their goal of a more reliable and sustainable water supply.
They say their teams are working diligently to complete these improvements while addressing urgent issues.
