Water Authority Board Director Kamal Gounder urges people of Nadi to boil all drinking water

The Water Authority is urging the people of Nadi to boil all drinking water.

This comes as the Water Authority of Fiji is in the process of conducting flushing works to eliminate suspected trapped air within the water reticulation systems in the Nadi area.

Parts of Nadi will be experiencing water disruptions until further notice due to these works.

They say the air locks have been causing intermittent water supply to the elevated areas of Nadi in the last few days.

Water Authority crew members are currently working to increase pressure on it’s bulk main that will eliminate trapped air in the system which will result in a full restoration and normal supply to the affected areas.

Areas will experience disruptions include, Megania, Solovi, Lavusa, Masi and Sonaisali.

Water carting trucks have been deployed to service these affected areas.

Water Authority Board Director, Kamal Gounder says that they was committed to resolving the water issues in the Nadi area and is working around the clock to get water supply normalized.
