Melbourne Storm flyer, Suliasi Vunivalu wants to remain with the Storm in the NRL competition if his code switch to rugby union next year is unsuccessful.

Vunivalu says he will seek reassurance about his contract ahead of his code switch and will remain with the Storm if it does not go as planned.

Vunivalu is set to depart Melbourne at the end of the NRL season after signing a deal with Queensland Reds and Rugby Australia late last year where he described it as too good to refuse.

Vunivalu has played 98 matches for the Storm and has scored 75 tries.

Meanwhile, in last night's NRL results, the Eels defeated the Sea Eagles 19-16 while the Sharks beat the Cowboys 26-16.

Today, the Raiders will take on the Knights at 6.05pm and the Titans will take on the Wests Tigers at 8.30pm.

The Bulldogs will play the Dragons at 6.05pm tomorrow.
