Voters who know that they will not be able to vote on election day at the polling station listed based on their address given to the Fijian Elections Office, should apply for postal voting when the Writ of Elections is issued.
This has been confirmed by Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem.
Please note you cannot just turn up at any polling station on election day and vote.
If your address has changed, you can upgrade your details with the Fijian Elections Office now.
According to the law, any person who is unable to be at their polling station on the date announced to be election day, will have to apply for a postal vote in order to vote.
Postal voting applications close 23 days after the Writ of Election is issued.
Saneem had earlier stressed that if you are in Fiji and you are listed to vote at St Joseph’s Secondary School, and on election day you cannot go to St Joseph’s Secondary School and have not applied for postal voting, you will not be able to vote anywhere else in Fiji.
You can only vote at your allocated polling station which is listed on the upgraded blue voter card, and not turn up at any other location to cast your vote.
People will be able to download the postal voting application form from the FEO website and submit it on the website.
